Pulmonary Hypertension Community of Hope

Out of Breath? Fainting? Tired? Shortness of breath with exertion? These are some of the symptoms of Pulmonary Hypertension. Click here to learn more about PH.

Welcome PH Community!

Pulmonary Hypertension goes by many names: Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, PAH, Secondary Pulmonary Hypertension, Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, but most people just say PH.  It is a simplified name for a complex health problem: high blood pressure in the lungs.  The name comes from pulmonary, or having to do with the lungs, and hypertension, which means high blood pressure.  PH is a blood vessel disease of the pulmonary arteries.  It's a rare, incurable, life-threatening disease.  People with PH often don't look sick, and it is often not recognized until an advanced state.  PH can make even the simplest tasks of daily living difficult.  People of any age or ethnic background can have PH.  Some symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, palpitation, and fatigue.

Many people may have Pulmonary Hypertension without even knowing it--so that is why increased PH awareness and earlier diagnosis lead to earlier treatment.  So, check out PHenomenal Hope website and find out more about PH as well as different ways you can take action towards PH awareness, advocacy, and donating to the cause.  You can read articles about PH, read poems and writings, review art, see upcoming events in the Mid-Hudson Valley in NY and other regions and states.  There are resources for more education about PH and a place to submit comments.  Enjoy your surfing & thanks for visiting the site.

Visit Pulmonary Hypertension Association at www.PHAssociation.org for support, education, research, community, news, and other information about PH.

PHA has a toll free Patient-to-Patient Helpline for PH patients, caregivers, & family and friends who need information and support.  Reach a friendly volunteer who can provide that information and support.  So pick up the phone and dial 1-800-748-7274.

PHenomenal Hope is a website for sharing PH information, updates, and news; however, it is not a medical site.  If you have questions about your own health care; PHenomenal Hope encourages members to seek professional medical advice to have medical questions answered concerning your health.

It's about love, strength, faith, support, and above all things hope, PHenomenal Hope!
